On the Wings of Eagles

Isaiah 40:31 - but they who wait for the Lord shall renew their stregth; they shall mount up with wings like eagles; they shall run and not be weary; they shall walk and not faint.  This is one of my favorite verses in the entire Bible.  It is such a testament to the power and patience of the Lord.  I am enthralled with the choice of verbage.  Even the young men shall fall exhausted, but those that wait upon the Lord will soar!  The imagery brings tears to my eyes knowing that we shall not only triumph, but actually be majestic and poweful like the eagle.  We shall soar high above able to swoop down on evil from our bird's eye view. Strength and might make no difference to God.  He will use the meek, the disabled, the feable and the weak in body as long as they are strong in spirit.  I pray for the day to come when we, God's people are mounted up on eagle's wings.  When evil grows weary and faints, the rightous will rise above the ways of evil and overcome.  The main part of this scripture that is the hardest to remember, is "but they who wait for the Lord".  It is so easy to want to accomplish what weview as God's will on our own, but God wants us to trust in Him.  God has a plan and His timing is perfect; even when His plan does not reveal itself to our eyes.  It is so tempting to want to help God bring about His will, but true strength lies in the ability to patiently await God.  Standing strong in the faith that God is in control of everything and that His plan will be perfect.
